We want to pass on our knowledge on how you can produce your market bunches and improve your patch.

The Farm has a very stringent biosecurity regime, which is essential to protecting our extremely rare breeding stud & flower farm. We are opening up VERY LIMITED spots to other flower enthusiasts to learn from us directly. (If you participate in this workshop, please be prepared for a full debriefing before you come onto the property, and expect to sterilise before entering. Further details will be sent to participants.)
This workshop is for those new to floristry or are wanting their own patch and don't know where to start. You may already have a patch, and want to learn more holistic methods of growing flowers. This is an interactive workshop so expect to get up close and personal with arranging your very own bunch!
This workshop is located on our beautiful friends farm with afternoon tea provided. Connect with other like-minded individuals and join us for a fun session.
Ohh and because you can't get enough beautiful flowers in your life - you'll have first pick of our pre-release seeds & tuber stock.
What you will learn-
🌼 Soil & Plant Health – How we holistically treat pests & diseases and what to look out for! What to feed your Dahlia's for the best flowering results, plus how to prepare your beds and correctly test your soil PH (including a take home testing kit). Foliar spraying covering holistic and traditional options and why we recommend this for Dahlias.
💦 Watering – We'll talk about how we setup our watering system and options like pulse watering
🌱 Propagating– A demonstration on how to propogate by taking cuttings, showcasing various growing mediums for best strike rates. Plus covering Dahlia genetics, forms / varieties / types and hand pollination vs cross pollination. And finally how to save seeds that will throw some marvelous funky varieties (if not hand pollinated)
🍂 Seasons – What to prepare for each season with Dahlia's in SA
⛏️ Planting & Dividing - A guide on how to divide and correctly store without damaging or causing your tubers to rot in storage. Plus also how to look for those 'eyes' on a viable tuber.
💐 - Cut Flower Prep - How to correctly harvest, cut and use your snips plus how not to transfer diease from plant to plant. Making sure your harvesting at just the right time before they open fully.
